The best way to learn soft pastel is simply to start.

Online soft pastel workshops are a friendly and flexible way to develop your painting skills from home. You can join me live on Zoom, work from a recording or combine both approaches, depending on the time and pace that suit you. If you are a beginner then this workshop is perfect to build confidence.

My live sessions usually last two hours. You can paint alongside me, watch the demonstration and ask questions, or use the recording afterwards to create your painting in your own time. I explain my process step by step, including how I choose colours, simplify a reference photograph, build layers and make decisions as the painting develops.

You can choose an individual workshop that appeals to you or join a series for a more regular creative rhythm. The recordings can be paused and repeated, making them suitable for beginners as well as experienced artists who want to explore new subjects and techniques.

You can Join my Live sessions if you enjoy working alongside me, look for the 2026 dates here.

Once the live date has passed, each session is available as a recording. If you are new to my workshops, the links below will help you get started.
